These days we all have so much competition and the trick is to stay "ahead" of
them by offering better products, better service, better qualified employees, etc.

But I strongly suggest that you take it even further than that.  Set yourself
apart...I mean really set yourself apart!  There are a multitude of ways of doing
this.

For example if you own a cleaning service, leave few pieces of candy behind
after every cleaning or an inexpensive vase of flowers.  Yes, it may cost you a
few bucks, but the return on investment is infinite.

If you operate a service company (or are in homes and businesses), wear shoe
covers, especially bright colored ones!  You will get noticed and have people
talking about you to everyone they know.

No matter your business, Surveys and Follow-Ups are always a good idea.  Your
clients will appreciate that you care enough to ask.  But, you also must Listen!  
Don't just ask; follow up on their concerns if they have any.  This is very
important.

Another good idea:  Send out greeting cards during the holidays or even birthday
cards if you know your client's birthday.  It sure does keep your name in front of
them.

So, spend some time brainstorming with your employees and find at least one
thing you can do to set yourself apart from your competition.  If you have other
